Dividend Yield

Dividend Yield = Dividend per share/Price per share.

Example:

If a stock pays 7.5 cents per share dividend and the share price is $2.50, the dividend yield = 0.075/2.5 = 3.0%.

The dividend yield is important for investors who rely on income from shares. It allows them to compare the return they will receive from different investment opportunities.
